Paname Boxing Club has been a real catalyst in my self-discovery, allowing me to feel self-assured and legitimized in my lesbian identity. My relationship with sports had always been painful and sad. But, for the first time in my life, I realized I'm not hopeless at it and I can progress quickly. 

I haven't met any fat female boxers yet, and I feel many of us can feel discouraged by certain restrictive rules, especially in competitions, as well as by the differences in cardio levels. When I'm reminded of my difference in an unpleasant way I don't take notice, I simply focus on my passion for boxing and I don't give a fuck about the rest.

Whether we want it or not, our club is political. Although there's been visible progress, there's still a lot of reticence!
