Through the last 16 years, I’ve experienced spells where I’ve had to stop doing sports because of physical problems and bullying. I’ve always felt a great passion towards Taekwondo; however, it’s always been a very masculine space. My classmates used to make hurtful remarks about my body. I persisted for five years out of love for the sport, but eventually, I couldn’t stand it any more.

After 8 years, I discovered Club Samarcus, which has been a truly amazing experience for me, since I’d never been in such a warm environment, free of bullying and full of wonderful people. I’d like to express my gratitude to Samarcus for offering opportunities to LGBTQIA+ individuals like myself. I sincerely hope that this beautiful project can expand throughout the world, bringing the same feeling of joy I feel to other people.
